Dr Barreth graduated with his medical degree from the University of Alberta in 2000. He then went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology for the University of Alberta with research and publications in colposcopy.

Dr. Barreth joined the Women's Health department in Grande Prairie in 2005. He has served as chief of the department and also served as chief of surgery. He and his wife and four children are proud to call Grande Prairie home.

Dr. Barreth has a full obstetrics and gynecology practice. He speaks fluent French and his areas of practice interest include: infertility, urogynecology, menopause, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, colposcopy, oncology, high risk obstetrics.

Dr. Barreth is an assistant clinical professor with the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta. He has also served as a member of the executive committee of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada.

Dr. Barreth is a member of the following Associations:
